Are You Solving the Right Problems?

For most companies, the big challenge is not solving problems but figuring out what the problems are.  In a study of 106 C-suite executives, who represented niny-one private and public-sector companies in seventeen countries, consultant Thomas Wedell-Wedellsborg found that a full 85 percent agreed that their organizations were bad at problem diagnosis.  87 percent agreed that this flaw carried significant costs.  And, fewer than one in ten said their organizations were unaffected by the issue.
